Herbert Hoover Once Said…

Herbert Clark Hoover was born on August 10, 1874 and died on October 20, 1964). Herbert was an American engineer, businessman, and a Republican politician who served as the 31st President of the United States from 1929 to 1933.

Freedom is the open window through which pours the sunlight of the human spirit and human dignity. – Herbert Hoover

This is a sweet analogy stated by our once President Hoover about freedom being an open window that lets in the light of the human spirit and dignity. I feel that many people view freedom as the ultimate right that we have sought since we decided to come to America. We sought freedom from religion and other freedoms as well and I think that they had good intentions but I think that we still need to work out the kinks to that freedom.

Blessed are the young for they shall inherit the national debt. – Herbert Hoover

I find myself surprised by the things I learn about our past Presidents and what messages that they left us with that resonate so loudly, especially today. Hoover stated Blessed are the young for they shall inherit the national debt. Oh how true that is? How that is so utterly and profoundly true. Our government has continued and mounted such a debt that who knows how many lifetimes it will take for that debt to be erased if it ever is.

When we are sick, we want an uncommon doctor; when we have a construction job to do, we want an uncommon engineer, and when we are at war, we want an uncommon general. It is only when we get into politics that we are satisfied with the common man. – Herbert Hoover

Hoover has proven to me the more you read and learn of the past the more you may actually learn. It is true what he said about when we’re sick we seek out someone who will think outside the box as well as when we want to build something or are at war. We want those who think and act differently and I think we do want that for President but we have often fell short of that and tend to go with the popular vote or one side being Republican or the other Democrat, black and white but there is more to this world than black and white and if we start thinking outside of that box and look at our past to review some of the core values that we had that we never quite put into place properly. Perhaps then we’ll be ready for our Independence, for the Independent Party, for Libertarians, for Liberty or just a third party, more options and not the cookie cutters. The upcoming election has me worried about what or how they’ll handle it. With the corona-virus epidemic how are we to vote? Some say that the whole pandemic is a political ploy to keep Trump in office. I’m not sure what to think of it all. I just know that we need change, it is way past time for change. Be part of this change.
